Good Afternoon Kids! Happy Room 414 day!!!
The 90 minute drive to Woonsocket from Hartford made my day only 14 hours instead of the normal 18. It was like a part-time time job. When I worked at the Ford Motor Company, I thought 12 hours was a long shift, especially unmedicated. But I only had half the medicine, I was missing the music.
We pulled up to Chan’s. Oh, I love Chan’s. I am normally a burger and frozen pizza guy, but now I understand why people eat food for the pure pleasure of the taste. Aside from great food, John Chan brings great music to the people of Woonsocket and they deserve it!
The music. The capacity crowd was nothing but a music loving crowd. No girl on girl action here. Oh, Lo’s me. I can’t win them all! Everybody was on their feet after EVERY song! The band was on fire. Imagine the highlights from the first three shows combined into one. Yes, yes, that’s what you got! Roberto sang great on “Soul Power” – I thought the girls were here. He’s got it.
Though I was at the merch table with a double door separating me from the band, when I heard, “I’m in love with you baby, but your Mother’s gotta move!” in the slow blues it made me jump outta my seat to see what was going on. As fate would have it, they guy that Anthony poking fun at with that song actually did live with his mother-in-law.
One pleasant surprise is when Debbie asked me for permission to go on stage to dance, which she says she usually does. I told her that the band frowns on that unless the dancer is naked. That usually is enough to discourage that from happening. I knew I was in trouble when she started unbuttoning her blouse. I told her this wasn’t Hartford and she had to keep her clothes on. But, thank you Deb for offering!
The furthest travelled award goes to Laddie Dina, who came all the way from Nigeria. He made the band honorary Nigerians and bestowed Anthony with a bracelet to commemorate the event. The first thing Anthony said was that he’s thinking of joining the New York Marathon. I’ll have a talk with him.
I thought I had seniority over all the fans with my 15 years of AG Medicine but I met Bob and Tony who let me know that they’ve had 15 years of medicine because they met AG in Quebec with his Grandma. It’s good to know I’m not the only veteran and that so many have enjoyed the medicine for so many years.
Larry, Larry, Larry is such a cyber caveman that he has yet to be on the forum. He can’t seem to figure out how to log on or turn his computer on. The lovely Rhonda, our moderator here, will help him. I hope he doesn’t ask Rhonda to change his cyber diaper.
Which brings us to the hotel, which was a beautiful bed and breakfast. I am a Holiday Inn Express kinda guy and this was my first bed and breakfast experience. I felt like I was in grandma’s house. Larry would have never survived the 48 narrow winding steps to the bedroom. Even I couldn’t write this report last night because of all those stairs. I really felt uncomfortable because I was afraid to spill my beer in grandma’s house. Right, Steve and Julie?
I’m looking forward to seeing Paul and eating one of his home cooked meals. And, keeping the BLUES ON FIRE in Rockland!
Over and Out.
Your Conductor,
Lothar
