Hello everyone!
Kalamazoo is just a hop from my home, enabling a wonderfully supervised visit. It is awesome, in my book, to be on the road and at home ON THE SAME DAY! The best of both worlds. Oh yeah!
For the State Theater show the boys were joined by the sweet Melva and Pinky. The big vocals sound great in the theaters, and the State had it going "ON"! I know because the fans let me know! Right Steve?
I did have to leave my post at the merchandise booth when the band kicked into Soul Power! The power of that tune, with the Girls, in a fine theater, is just over the top! The background vocals on ‘White Room’ provided an extra dose of pure pleasure to an already fine song. Superfan Cyndi said she preferred AG’s singing on that song to the original version. Hail Yeah! There was plenty of fist pumping during Testify. The band did “Love’s Got The Power” for the encore.
I have to give a shout out to Craig! He’s one of my "Road Angels" from some of my stumbling days of the past and possible future! And Lisa, Tom & Wayne of the State Theater prevented any new stumbles! Thanks for making everything easy! Tim - glad you got your "Lo" time in. Beside the great music, the next best benefit of my career is meeting so many good people! For Sure!
The after party at the 411 Club was off the hook. The band got up and jammed Cream’s “Politician” and Hendrix’s “Spanish Castle Magic”. The crowd was provided with pure psychedelic pleasure. Since my visit was supervised, I had to return home. I thought I would sneak out without causing a scene or awkward goodbyes. I told Anthony and he immediately yelled, “Lo is leaving, everybody say goodbye to Lothar,” knowing this was against the plan. I have to thank Angie for being part of my team, during that awkward moment at the 411 Club, as she helped me make my getaway.
Unacceptable Anthony! I'm telling Larry! He will want to have a meeting after the Hendrix/Clapton show next week! He knows I like to leave the party unnoticed! Speaking of Larry, he will be on the road next week. If anybody has stock in Lazy-Boy recliners you might wanna sell them this week. Aside from tour management, I can also provide financial consultation.
I had to drive home in through a blinding snow and hail storm. At the end of April? 3 weeks ago I vowed to NEVER BE COLD again, EVER! It’s been 21 days of shivering! I vow to never make another vow! Ohhhhhh… Lo is me! Thanks to AG & the band 'cause it's still all good!!!
The band is on their own tonight in Cleveland. I am afraid to leave them without supervision. Next stop is St. Louis. See you there.
Over and Out!
Your Conductor,
Lothar
