Hello Psychedelic Children (Nod, nod, wink, wink),
Oh my my. We thought we forgot Roberto at the show. But he was busy getting ice and Whiskey to celebrate the music of my generation. I finally got to hear it. Now I "got it". Thank you Anthony and the boys! It was pleasantly odd to hear the guys playing cover tunes all night.
Because I had Shannon McKee, my secret weapon at merch booth (sales were up 40%), I was able to enjoy the second set. I didn't get to see the first set as I was busy greeting the new members of the family. My hand is wore out from all the handshakes and thank you Paula for the back breaking hug. The family is growing by leaps and bounds. What a pleasure to be on the front lines.
The second set amazingly off the hook. "Strange Brew" stuck in my head. The range of the vocals was mind blowing. There were a couple of headbangers in the audience. I am really too old to be shaking my head like that. People were up on their feet for the whole set and they were properly pleased with a rock n roll eargasim. The band played a great blend of Jimi and Clapton - Little Wing, Purple Haze, Manic Depression, White Room, Red House, Foxy Lady, Badge, Politician, Crossroads, Spanish Castle Magic, Sunshine of Your Love, Hey Joe, Born Under A Bad Sign, Fire, Strange Brew and Voodoo Chile.
It was a stroke of genius to put on a show like this. So many new fans were won over because people were curious to see if AG could pull it off. And, now they are hooked.
So many members of the family from far and wide came to be experienced. Nashville Kathy was there wearing a cool Hendrix shirt. Indiana Hoosierville Jim and Kathy were there. Red from Ohio was there (or does she live in PA? It's hard to keep track. Looks like I need another hug). Bill and Shannon McKee properly represented Chicago. Blues Farm Deb was awesome at handing out the flyers! Our loyal honorary LP Management St. Louis Chapter Brad "Mr. Rock N Roll" Fernandez was there.
Thanks to Mark, BA, Greg and Rich Wood for helping us rock out properly!
Thanks for all the eye candy in the audience. I don't know what the boys saw with the blinding stage lights but it sure looked good from my view.
What a pleasure it is to offer the NEW ALBUM to the people. Because I am hooked on it!
Now for the Larry portion of the road report. Hell yeah, it's good to see him up and out of the lazy boy. Believe it or not, I really need his assistance on this career path I've chosen. Not that he really does much except boss me around but somehow because of my experience of being bossed around at Ford and at home I perform best in this environment. But for real, with Larry on board, 33% less U-Turns, 60% fewer emergency gas stops. And, one plus one equals one. Welcome aboard Larry, it's great to have you back. It was exhausting taking applications for your position. Yeah, yeah, yeah, nice.
We have a big day tomorrow and I have passed the three beer mark, so I must let you go. I better get to sleep before Larry does because his snoring will keep me up.
Over and Out!
Your Conductor,
Lothar
