Hello everybody out there in the land of Gomes!
Two Theater shows in two days. Hail, yeah!
And, we are coming to you live from the second Bloomington city in two days. This time it's Hoosierville (Indiana), boy am I confused! Last night's show was a benefit for the Red Cross of Monroe County of Indiana, and like yesterday we met a group of dedicated, hard working and passionate people that take the time and effort to put events like these together. Tonight we would like to thank Phil Bowmer and his staff of doing an amazing job of putting the power of music to a great cause and not just for my listening pleasure (although there is nothing wrong with that, is there?).
And now, my show report!! This was a night where the Senoirs of Indiana University celebrated their graduation, and also a night where the people in attendance of the show were just begining to get their proper education, yeah, yeah, yeah! A PhD in Bluesification. This was our first time playing here and only a handful or so in attendance have been exposed the the live experience! By the time we hit the stage and opened with the driving sound of Soul Power, to the very last note of Testify, the crowd was hooked! As for usual, Anthony and the band had them believing that Music FOR SURE is the medicine! The band was clicking in this fine theater as Roger, Roberto, Melva and Pinky made it easy for Anthony to gather the crowd and show his versatility. That's what I'm talking about!!! My man!
I got to say, I love "the family", it was great to see a group of members that showed, Nashville Kathy made it all the way from Tennessee.......the Road warrior that she is, don't take it too hard, you made it to the show on time...................even I got lost with 2 GPSs, road maps and wrong directions from the locals. We're only human! And Mr.Jim Carfield driving all the way from Georgia to enjoy the show! As usual we put you to work, after all that's what family is for. Thanks for NOT being there Larry! The biggest surprise of all was that Tony B was in the building (where have you been boss?). He is my tour manager mentor, and as such, I also put him to work. Hail Yea!!!!!!!!!!!
After it was all said and done, I can see that the Anthony Gomes Band and the Red Cross and Bloomington are a perfect prescription!!! Thanks to Ethan and the Kirkwood Theatre staff along with Mitchell Caver who designed and produced the great show poster!
This will do it from your Conductor, save all your hugs and handshakes until we meet again!
Over and Out,
Lothar
