Hello Forum Family,
Due to the fact that I’m writing this report having passed my 3 beer maximum whatever I say should, would and could be used against me and my better judgement. Please let me know if you feel like my condition has impaired this issue of the road report.
So on with the report….
I will get right to the show report because it such a beautiful day… a summer day thank you… I ain’t waiting for Memorial Day. And it was an early show - which is good for this old goat. We had a river as a backdrop and it was an “intimate setting”. The owners of the River Beach Pub, Brenda and Larry (not to be confused with my assistant from Arkansas), treated the band with fine hospitality. What would Lazy-Boy Larry (my assistant from Arkansas) say? Oh, Lo is meeeeeeeeee…. You missed another fine show. But the Arkansas home office is running smoothly.
Oh, yeah, the show report…
Theaters are awesome… but intimate is cool. “Darkest Before The Dawn” intimate. Did I say intimate? Thank God my lovely wife wasn’t here because I would have re-affirmed vows that I couldn’t keep the first time. And, that could be the end of my marriage. I am talking about burning, smoking, screaming, sizzling in my face guitar. The “Ro Bros” (Roger and Roberto) joined by the girls (Pinky and Melva) to take it over the top. That’s a ticket that anybody can have, but you have to deserve it.
“Painted Horse” with Roger’s solo was off the hook!!!! For some reason “Misery For Company”, “Voodoo Moon”, “Circles”?! are etched in my mind from tonight’s show. “Somebody’s Missing” really hit hard because we lost “Papa Rickey”, one of our favorite family members that we all dearly loved, earlier this week. “Mama Jean” our hearts are with you and we hope to see you soon.
The people representing properly… Bill Hall. Nice guitar. Brian and my friend who’s a girl (Jorgi). A shout out to Val for taking care of the real people and not just the artists. The impaired portion of this road report has been brought to you by our sponsor Val. Finally, Andrew on the Sax. The sax takes the place of 10 handshakes. We had the Tube Guy and Jay Suarez (do not expect me to EVER remember these guys AGAIN) at the show. Their last one was THIRTEEN YEARS AGO!!!!!!! Unacceptable. The Tube Guy, although slightly under the influence, has sworn to return to a show sometime this summer or in another 13 years... whichever comes first!
See ya at my next show in Minnesota June 1st.
Over and Out.
Your Conductor,
Lothar
