Hello Family,
Waterford River rhythms 2013!
First the visual... A stunning park next to a pristine river on a gorgeous afternoon with a sea of lawn chairs! Chairs filled with families & friends out to enjoy one another while experiencing top-shelf entertainment. It was a crowd that was ready to enjoy the evening. Many got things started by enjoying some wine & locally brewed beers (which sampled very well thank you ) until the musical medicine of Anthony Gomes Band got them on their feet! I noticed there were many Gomes T-Shrits at the show! Many of them were worn by familiar faces but I can't remember everyone's name. Looks like I need more handshakes and hugs.
Now, on to the show... It was a killer show! By the second tune, Music Is The Medicine, the dosage was hitting the spot! 'White Room' made my ears perk up, even without my hearing aides. My latest favorite live, 'Circles', had the crowd standing & grooving and the guys kept them on their feet through 'Testify' and 'Love Take Care of Love'. The night concluded with an awesome encore with guests Talon and Shawn McKee! The boys were playing the hell outta the guitar and proved that the blues is in good hands. Oh Yeah! Looks like next time the good people can leave their chairs home! HaHa! A big thank you to Ted, the sound engineer. He is truly an engineer. From the very first note to the last he had the boys sound SPOT-ON! And KEPT them there! What a pro!
Thank you Crystal for stepping up and being there when my multi-tasking was proving ineffectual! Al, you and your sponsors know how to run things right and everything ran smoothly. Thanks Kaitlin of Lauer financial for keeping me so busy at the merch table. Bill (gonna sleep on the floor in Hillsdale, MI.) McKee was 'In Da House'! Many thanks to super Fan Fred for the excellent sandwiches to keep the Boys energetic and healthy! Sarah and Christine came all the way from Milwaukee. Anne Gram came from Chicago. The after-party headed to Martini Mo's around the corner where my training in HEAR NO, SEE NO, SPEAK NO, kick in loud and clear...which seems to end my report...I will be AWOL for the Iowa show, but will report from Hillsdale with Grand Master Larry on Board ! YES!!!
Over & out!
Your Conductor,
Lothar
