Well, I know for myself I am personally thanking AG and crew for one hell of a show that night. The weather was very strange and I do believe it was the pre stages of a full moon/voodoo moon to come...I have to state that it was one of his better shows that I have seen in quit some time and believe me I have seen a few in my days. AG my friend you totally awed everyone with the opening song Star Spangled Banner followed with Testify...It kicked azz AG style big time. Uncle Bo's is in the bottom of the ramada inn hotel in topeka kansas. It has so much history that truly only a true blues lover will know and love .The name Uncle Bo was an actual person. And, when Suki took over the business she struggled in thinking of changing the name, and by popular demand her and the staff decided to leave it as Uncle Bo's. And, as mysterious as the Blues is, the name fits. Some, that know what the name stands for say the spirit is always there during every show. Suki is also very very well known for her attachment to the blues music/industry. She is the president for the Topeka Blues Society and the sole one in charge of booking all these wonderful blues musicians that we love to go listen to. Every year she travels down to Memphis for the IBC challenge. This year the Topeka Blues Society picked The Old #5's to take part in the IBC ( Jan 21-25, 2014 ) . They were the opening act for AG when he was here Nov 16th 2013. Which by the way that was a first that I can ever remember, AG having an opening act that is. But, they were just as good and got the crowd warmed up and ready to be Gomesified. They had also played the night before at Uncle Bo's. They are a local blues band from kansas city. Very nice well rounded group of guys I might add. I just wanted to give a shout out to the people that make the blues happen here locally by booking the most talented musicians in this genre. Suki is awesome and Uncle Bo's truly is a family atmosphere. We love you AG and crew and hope you guys keep coming back for as long as Uncle Bo's is here. Oh ya, and the ending song was one of my ultimate favorites, " what would you do if you could rule the world ""...I would make every child and teenager listen to the Blues that is one thing I would start with. PEACE LOVE & LOUD GUITARS ALWAYS...... Heather B. we miss you guys already.....hurry back...
