Greetings to all the children of the music,
Larry and I have decided that we are going to change the road reports a little. Instead of giving you a play by play of the gig itself we are going to focus on the behind the scenes action. We would like to encourage YOU to write the show reviews here on the forum. Everyone has a unique perspective on the AG experience and we'd like you to share it here. Larry and I can't hog it all.
On with the report.
This is my first report since I have returned back from spending the winter in Florida. My first year as a Snowbird, and ohhhh Lo is me! I thought March was the right time to come back. Mistake number one. A brutal couple of weeks weather wise, only balanced out by the opportunity to hit the road! And, oh, what a trip it's been!
Heading to Treasure Lake ski lodge in Du Bois Pennsylvania Right behind a blizzard that was demolishing Chicago, Cleveland And the rest of the northern sections. Thankfully we came from the south And they had just enough time to clear the roads for the Silverwings (Mercedes Sprinter) to cut a path to Treasure Lake.
Treasure Lake ski lodge is absolutely one of my favorite places to bring the 'Rock'em Sock'em' in your face power trio known as the Anthony Gomes Band! It's that "Family" feel and their true love of music that makes them tops in my book.
I love the way big brother George makes us feel so comfortable & welcome. And, I'm not just saying that because he bought me lunch. # 1 fan Patty celebrating her birthday notched the party meter into the red zone, as # 1 fan Gloria harassing Anthony properly during his guitar tunings! Thanks to Mr. Tool for keeping me balanced, my brothers Rockin Rod, Kammer, Greg bringing their awesome vibes to a great night out!
And did I say power trio? I meant, P O W E R trio! Taking 4 minute songs and awesome jams into 15 minute adventures into sonic unknowns! Anthony, Theo and Fred are playing some amazing music. You have to check out the new band!!! WOW was my reaction which seemed to echo throughout the club. Actually WOW was echoing throughout the run at Moondogs in Pittsburg and Willberts in the Land of Cleve!
Thanks to Billie at Moondogs for running a great ship and Craig at the door, and Norman Ski-Bo doing the sound right! And of course thanks to Moondog for being his amazing and unique self! Hail Yea!
The 'Family' (Sheryl, Sharon, Jeff, and 2 in a row shows Rockin Rod ) and fans got properly, pleasantly exhausted with a 100 minute set followed with a 60. The stage was on FIRE as the WOWs rang throughout the club!
Sheryl & Sharon getting their 2 in a row fix at Willberts, as they justly deserve, with Jim and Amy making it feel like a family reunion! Thanks Mike at the door and Farkas for all their help!
Thanks to Tony B. for helping break up our drive by hosting us at his home in Indy!!! Good timew with good friends!
And thanks to Anthony, Theo and Fred for Smoking this cool March, as I anticipate a hot smoking summer with this awesome group of musical geniuses! Get ready 'cause they're coming at you on F U L L P O W E R! Yeayeayea ! Peace, Love, and Loud Guitars!
PS. I would like to hear from 'Family' and fans for specifics on the show and set lists in the Forum, since I may have missed some details due to my relentless multi-tasking & chemically induced memory loss!
Love you all!
Your Conductor,
Lo
