Canton Can-Do Da Blues!
Ohio, the Midwest, my kind of people! The staff running a flawless operation. The stage bosses Lee and Matt taking proper charge of the stage action, with Vicky and Peggy, our Back Stage Liaisons on the spot to deal with any issues! Smooth and well run! Vicky and Peg kind of remind me of the female version of Larry and Lo! Ha! Don't laugh, this time it is a complement. Thanks to the Big Boss Erin Thompson and crew for keeping me and the merchandise booth running smooth.
Which brings me back to the PEOPLE! WOW! I'LL try to sound like Larry with this description...1/2 hr. into the "Monsters Of The Midways" (Anthony Fred and Theo) set, the ominous dark clouds burst into a steady rain! Well, here goes another rained out show! And believe me, these guys WANT to play. But WAIT! There's MORE!
Some places, when it rains, the people scatter like the palmetto when the lights come on (or bed bugs at Towne Manor Motel). Not here baby! We're in Ohio!
Anthony asked the people for permission to give them more-they responded-with cheers-and the sea of people turning into a thousand pedaled Lotus in full bloom as the umbrellas unfolded! That may sound more like a Reverend Will observation, but that's just the way it IS!
The "Monsters" tore up the rest of the set, with cranking sound and amazing jams! Jams? I did say jams! During the show, AND, an after party jam at the hotel! Playing with the other artist that night brought out notes, rhythms, and musical stuff that even appeared to amaze Anthony at times! Totally 'Off Da Hook'!
I know I deserve this great stuff! I am so happy to share it with the Newbies who 'get' it, and the growing AG family!
Speaking of family! Good to have Nashville Kathy's wheels up and running again. Donna thanks you too! Ohio Sharon spreading the hugs, Cheryl sponsoring Kimberly to the Hug-Fest, and the great brownies & crackers for Lo! The loveliest of Lovelies Amy in the house! Jeff and his life partner (Lo is my memory, as I expect to remember her name next time!) enjoying! ROCKIN ROD and his buddy John were there, then seemed to vanish. Sure would have been nice to party with Brother Rod at the after-jam!
Singing Pittsburgh Don and Kali enjoying quality time with the boys at the hotel check in, at the show, at the after jam, and again at check-out! Right On! Tracey, most awesome guy, and Barb-thanks for donating your 'Struttin' shirts to me! They won't fit Anthony. I'll use them to show the people of Chesterton how to mow the lawn properly! Yeayeayea! Great seeing Ken and Sue, and congrats on winning the cigar box guitar raffle! To Ron the canning specialist, Larry lost your #, call him!
The Great Tony B. keeping L. P. Management on top of the game!
Then off to Wilbert's in the Land of Cleve! Not even a road trip at 1 hr., left us with plenty chill out time at the hotel before the show. Hey, they are not always 18 hr. days! So the Boys were well rested to blast Cleveland properly! I had the honor of sharing the front row center table with 2 in a row show Family, the well deserving Nashville Kathy, Tracey and Barb, Sharon, and Cheryl! Yee Haa! Youngstown Lisa and her family were well represented too! The table behind us was packed with superfamily also, but Lo is me as it will take one? more show to ingrain their name in my brain! Hail Yea!
Next stop for the boys is July 4th in Topeka, KS. Stay posted as we announce our "Michigan Music Marathon" August 8/9!
