The Road to Topeka!
Uncle Bo's. Topeka, Kansas! YES! Celebrating 9 years, 1000 shows! YES! Anthony Gomes Band In Da House! YES! Don't need to say no more... but I will!
Peace, Love, Loud Guitars! The slogan of my life! And, on a T-Shirt? And tie-die? (mustard stains & burn holes blend well). AND, LIVE!? In Kansas! Oh, Dorothy, I really need to say no more!... for the detail-oriented, I will!
Uncle Bo's is a 10 hour drive from Hoosier-Ville. For those of you who don't know "Hoosier" is a term that people from Indiana call themselves. I also found out that in Missouri it is used in a derogatory manner. Back to the show. Hoosier-ville may as well be next door when the Best LOUD Guitar (Anthony Gomes), Slamming-est Drums, (Fred Spencer) and the one of a kind 7 string bass player (Theo Harden) take the stage! I'm-a-gonna be there!! Wearing my colors - blue tie dye, baby!
And TAKE the stage!?! WOW! It just never ceases to amaze me, what the stage can give when these guys take it! From the first notes of Slamming Testify, to the outrageous Blues Child, to however the set ended, condition, mesmerized, could describe it! Thankfully the merch table kept me centered and grounded. Actually, ground central, for the Peace and Love that follows this 'Damsch', Loud Guitar! The Peace, shining through the eyes and smiles of the deserving folks!
The Love! Yes! Direct-connect with my Super Kansas Love, Margaret! Awesome! My brother Todd, getting the love and T-Shirt to share with AWOL Sister Lise! The Great, Poetic, Reverend Will...for sure...radiating that love stuff, and reminding Norma and I, that we know each other, already! Huh?! My Man! Speaking of my 'man', Stevie Ray Conn, I mean Steven Anthony Conn, in the house! WOW!
The nucleus for a great time! With some road-trippers (Oklahoma City, Springfield and Omaha), the Super Brother - Big Bruce with his sister and niece, too cool! Super Hug Heather, so sweet, as Newbie Kim, properly initiated to the 'AG Family' and guided home and tucked in by her two lovely bouncers! Yeayeayea! We also had Jennie and her Mom in the house! So thank you Suki and everyone at Uncle Bo's for doing it right! As long as the wheels still spin under my booty-tang (slang for the French, derrière), I'm-a-gonna be there!
Oh yeah, there, in Kalamazoooo-Tooooo!!!
See ya next week...
Peace, Love, Loud Guitar(s)!
