Road to Peoria!
Good ole Peoria, close to St. Louis, close to my home, and really close to the corn fields that feed me so well! The food for this evening will be the super, deluxe, sandwich of Soul! Ha! Anthony Gomes Band, sandwiched by the Blind Boys Of Alabama and Delbert McClinton! Bring It! Super Summer Evening on the river! The deserving, packed house, gorging on the smorgasbord of Soul!
Anthony, Fred and Theo delivering their plate of mercy less, scorching, smoked, musical magic! WOW! Once again, I was useless after the 'Blues Child' appetizer! Thankfully we had the total 'TEAM' aboard with General Carson, Larry, and an awesome stage crew, lead by another Larry, doing the name proud! Making my slacking unnoticeable! Yes!
While I remember, the third Larry for the evening and his lovely bride Brenda were representing Chillicothe and River Beach Pub properly. Also representing Chillicothe was my 'falling off the wagon' partner Val! Good to see your smiles!
Fans from way back, Ron and Laurie finally back in the house! So Cool! We have to give props to Burl and Sue from Fat Fish Pub. Their recommendation helped AG get on the bill. That, and all the AG Street Teamers requesting the band. YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!! We had the Maloney clan in the house, Jim and Hannah, representing properly. Red and her magic cooler were present. Happy Birthday! Jill Johnson and her crew were present and she had AG sign her scarf. Denise brought Moonshine. Don and Tina Burgard brought the whole family! Sandy Thompson is now gonna be driving properly with her matching AG licence plate frames! Right on Road Trippers! I have one question... where was Bill Hall? You missed a good one!
AG signed a guitar for the Multiple System Atrophy fundraiser and took a photo with one of the patients who is fighting this rare and terminal disease. Check out www.multiplesystematropy.org/ for more information. I enclosed a picture here.
We also had some family in the Delbert McClinton band. Kevin, their keyboard player, played on AG's "Before The Beginning" album. Awesome playing kid! The horn section featured the awesome Dana Robbins and Quentin Ware who are longtime friends. Delbert and his band sounded incredible!
Leslie and John's smiles at the hotel checkout show the lasting side-effects of the Meds properly administered the night before!
Next administering to be delivered full dose at The Devils Tail, Junction City, Kansas! Be There! Hail At The Tail! Yeah yeah yeah!
Your Conductor,
Lo
PS. This is where I would add Larry's report if it weren't for that we are sooooo BUSY!
