Auburn Hills ---Toronto ---Today's Rebel Highway
The Silver Eagle brings the fireball of music to the deserving, bundled, Northern folks! Yes, snow in the air, on the ground in Ontario...silence please, as I must moan & groan at this point...*#€+ £*<!!!!!
But what a joy, getting back to Callahan's and Hugh's Room!
We had a special guest on drums, Go Go Ray (from the Samantha Fish) band, who was filling in for Fred. Ray hit in great with the band on and off stage and they made some slammin' music. Most people had no idea that they had never rehearsed or even played together before.
Callahan's was awesome! Christine, Sod & Pete, pure professionals, welcoming us to a 'Kick Butt' venue at Callahan's, and ditto on the music! Once again, the WOW factor comes in! These guys keep giving, from the stage, and the Awe & Amazement just keeps on flowing! Bring It! I know nothing about music tech, but, I KNOW, the stuff coming from that stage could never, EVER, be put on paper! HA! Musically, That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
And to be able to share it with a bunch of Newbies, Fans and 'Family' is too cool! Actually, Fans, and Newbies are 'Family' I just don't know yet! Like Ken and Sue, finally! Like my brother and sister 'Wanderers' (Pronounced with a hard 'a') from Indiana, Jim and Cathy! Great to see Jesse again, from New York! Lovely Liz and Cindy in the house, shining in their colors and smiles!
The Michigan Meltdown completed, and on to a smooth load-out and 90 seconds to the hotel, to rest up for the spanking to be delivered in 17 hours! Hugh's Room--Toronto! After a easy border crossing we hit the Tim Horton's and were bound for the club.
How fitting, to bring the musical firestorm to the proud hometown of Anthony! Here's how it goes...raining all the way there, the boys plug in, Colin on the soundboard cranks it, rain disappears, evaporates! Load-out and head for the hotel, raining all the way! Now that's just the way it is.
The Boys giving it up on the stage for all of Anthony's 'Homies', and Jim and Cathy, 'Wandering' over the border to get their 2-in-a-row proper spanking! As well as Jesse, of the 'Big Apple', and Corey & Kirs from Buffalo, doing their Border Shuffles!(right Larry?)
Sweet Jen, welcoming us with her smiles, and homemade hot sauce. The promoter Ross and his lovely bride came early to hear the soundcheck. Ross was all smiles as he announced that it would be a capacity crowd. Yes! Colin, the sound engineer, was just a cool dude. My new French friend, Sylvain In Da House! Sylvain and a guy, 'Route Ange', he is called, did their 6 hr. trip from Quebec, understanding, in any language, the value of what we are getting! Yeayeayea! He brought his friend Guy with him too to properly represent La Belle Province.
It was awesome to see Tony Sr. in the house as well as AG's brother Paul and the lovely Tara. Two of Anthony's high school English teachers were present making it a really cool night. Too many people to remember... oh, Lo is me. The show was SOLD OUT - and the club turned away 70 or so people. They are talking 2 nights next time. Maybe May 15 &16. It would be perfect to celebrate AG's birthday in his hometown.
In closing WOW, SENSATIONNEL!
PEACE LOVE LOUD GUITARS
