Road Report Time! Have you missed me? Hail Yeah!
The 'Sound of Music', specifically, "Electric Field Holler" by Anthony Gomes, has pulled me out of my blissful hibernation a little earlier than expected! But HEY! A little cold pain in trade for the Smokin', Shredding Guitar, Slammin' Drums, and Amazing Bass, warming the 'cockles of my heart' during this frigid winter run! Ha! Enough of the romantic interlude!
"The King of Omaha" aka Jeff "BOODY" Budin, the kickass 'Omaha Blues Society', the fantastic staff of the 21st Saloon, the loyal fans and Me were roasted properly with Anthony, Fred and Theo's electrifying performance! WOW! A-effing-mazing!!! Anthony keeps coming on with such new, compelling compositions that I may never hibernate again, for fear of missing another note!
Omaha toasted properly, it's off to lands I would never see on my own-Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with their Hardy Folk coming out to be slammed and rejuvenated during their 28 degree heat wave! Three words... SOLD OUT SHOW. Lance, Sarah and everyone at Ol Skoolz was too cool for school. The crowd was ready for a good time and the boys delivered. Thank you Sioux Falls for your support. Many of the folks in attendance were pushing to get the band at the Jazzfest. Yeah, yeah, yeah!
Then the final shredding taking place just a stone's throw from where Dorothy's house landed in 'Oz'! Junction City, Kansas! Hail Yeah! Thanks to Nikki Londene and all the Staff at the Devil's Tail for hosting us so properly! As the Boys shredded the fans, my lil' tail got shredded by newest super-fan Andrew Didas and his lovely, Tonya!
It's like this-Andrew, having never heard the band before, got hooked, lined, and sinker'd by the second chord, (just like my innocent ass in 1998)! And he, trying to show his appreciation, not knowing that I have seriously cut back my alcohol intake, they drenched the band and me in whiskey! It was like 2005 all over again. Ohhh, Lo is me for sure!
Whiskey ends any memory of what would be next! But I could swear that Burton Cummings from the Guess Who was in the house. A big 'Atta Boy' goes to Anthony, Fred and Theo for taking amazing care of me, (just as they always do for Larry), stepping it up and doing my work, til they gently peeled me off the van floor back home in Louie'!
Thanks Guys!
I'm ok now, but man, I can't wait for the new CD to be released in 2 weeks!!! BRING IT!!!
Before I sign off I would like more of you readers to comment here - especially if you were at the show. It's Forum Teamwork. Yeah, yeah, yeah! Here are what a few people had to say about this weekend's concerts!
Your deserving Conductor,

"Anthony Gomes at the 21st Saloon in Omaha, NE. Anthony and his band are better than ever. What a show ....he is so engaging and an unbelievable guitarist and singer. Nobody puts as much of their soul into a performance than Anthony does. You will ALWAYS leave his shows feeling better than when it started ! Anthony finishes a song better than anyone I've seen ! He will have a CD coming out in March....you all need to check it out" - Steve
"What a fabulous show! Anthony Gomes included the crowd in the show. So much fun! Theo, on the 9-string bass always had a smile on his face and it was a joy to watch him have fun. And Fred's drum solo was not a cymbal solo. LOVED IT!" - Suzie
"I am still grinning from the show. I had the most amazing time tonight. You guys put on one hell of a show!!! Everyone had such a great time." - Sarah
"Man alive, you three hit a musical grand slam last night @ Old Skoolz! Wow! The new music is a hit, lots of new favorites!!" - Patti
"What a good time - we got priceless entertainment for $10 at the Devil's Tail" - Dalynn
