I am Holler'n. Electric Field Holler'n that is.
Time to hit the road and use the electricity of the music to get out of the comforts of my recliner and tv remote. Sorry Larry, but I gotta show you how it's done.
We got ANTHONY GOMES IN DA HOUSE! And he's playing some new songs from his kicka$$ new album.
Ain't no way I'm going to miss the CD release parties going down in the land of Lincoln. Me and the great blues Society of the Kankakee area got our dose! Anthony, Fred and Theo delivered the masterpiece of music, Electric Field Holler, Live and 'In Your Face' to The deserving crowd! A few standing ovation's, and the people staying till the last note, tells me that they get it! People were buying these albums by the truckload.
Thankfully Bill McKee took up the slack for Larry, still reclining, and made 'LP' complete, Setting the Boys up to properly slam Chicago!
The intimate setting at Reggie's made for a fine contrast to the hustle and bustle of the big town! Anthony came to Chicago from way back to cut his teeth on the blues with the big boys! The recliner just ain't going to cut it, Larry! Just ask Tenea, from way back in the Jim Shooze days! My Chicago Sweet, Cyndi, enjoying her shredding at home, as well as my Chicago Love, Shelly G. B.!!! My Man, Tim of the great Children Of Fallen Riders organization, celebrating properly with us! Good ole Don who I know I know, but will forget his name again, I am sure. Sean and Bill stepping it up and making me shine, thanks guys. I finally met Superfan Margo, who just happens to live right down the street from me! Ha! Strange small round about world it is! Her husband Dan is the photographer that took the photos for the Unity album. Diane was also present and she brought AG a new scarf that he's been wearing at some recent shows. Lenny 'Junk In The Trunk' who customized the band's ride was present and well as Steve "Turn It Up!" Becker. Elinor, who had seen the band play at the Broken Oar, come out even though her friends ditched her at the last minute.
Then it's off to St. Louis for Anthony, Fred and Theo's hometown shredding! The packed crowd at Sybergs was ready for their 'Home Town Boys' to bring on the firestorm! With the great Marshall "Thunder" and Doug "Lightning" on the sound board, it's a done deal! My Nashville Sista, Kathy, not waiting til April for her spanking! Larry and Karla celebrating properly, as well as sweet Jill, 'Blues Farm Deb', Mr. Brewer, Sis Liz, Phil (whose name I'm sure I'll remember next time), Melva (vocal alumni of AGB) and Ladale (keyboard alumni of AGB and Mr. Personality) were present and helped to kick the celebration up a couple of notches! MY MAN!
Pat, OJ, and Billie were properly representing the Street Team as well. Hell, yeah! Thanks to Rhonda for taking her top shelf photos. Or was that Jordan? They must be twins. Thanks to Boot for helping the boys load in! Yeah, yeah, yeah! Jeri and Tony from Jeri Designs were present. Jeri makes Anthony's guitar straps. They are like the Picasso's of guitar straps. www.jeridesigns.com - check it out if you are cool enough.
Mark Cortesi, One of the movers and the shakers of the 'Music Is The Medicine' foundation, in Da House! Mark, on behalf of MITM, donated a $2000 check to Gateway 180 to help homeless children in St. Louis. Amazing!!! Visit www.musicisthemedicine.org to learn more.
I also got to meet Fred's parents and sister, and Theo's parents! Awesome! I can't believe they lied to me and told me they were orphans! I must quit being so trusting!
Special thanks to Brad Fernandez, taking care of the boys beyond properly, in St. Louis!
IF I HAVE FORGOTTEN YOU IT IS THE RESULT OF MY SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS DUE TO A SERIES OF SCIENTIFIC TESTS I AM DOING ON MY BODY. Please let me know and I will make the necessary 'adjustments'.
With Mountain Home in the cross-hairs...Larry was 'On Spot', bringing the Boys to his sold out Home Town Shredding! Seeing that Larry is no longer chair ridden, I will let him finish this report!!! Oh, Larry, turn off the television....
To be continued...
I'VE GOT A BLUES SOUL AND A ROCK N ROLL HEART!
Your Conductor,
Lothar
